Additional Costs

While our plans cover the essentials, some situations may require additional services
  • Here’s a breakdown of potential extra charges to help you budget accurately:
  • • Filter Cleaning: Cartridge filters should be cleaned every 3 months, and D.E. filters every 6 months. This service costs $162.38 (including tax). We do not service sand filters, but they should be cleaned every 3-5 years. We’re happy to recommend companies that specialize in sand filter maintenance.
  • • Green to Clean: For pools that are initially green and need significant work to restore clarity, there is a one-time charge ranging from $100 to $350, depending on the severity of the pool’s condition.
  • • Algae Treatment: If your pool has substantial algae buildup but isn’t entirely green, an Algae Treatment is recommended. This service costs $150.
  • • Equipment Repair: Often, a pool’s condition is impacted by malfunctioning equipment. We’ll inspect and assess any necessary repairs to restore proper function. Costs for equipment repairs vary based on the parts and work required.

Construction Pricing

The average cost of an inground concrete pool in our area is around $100,000. However, prices can vary widely, typically ranging from $70,000 to $400,000 depending on several factors. To be upfront, concrete pools are a big investment, but they offer unmatched customization and durability. Here’s a breakdown of the main factors that can impact the final price:

Key Factors That Affect Pool Pricing:

  • Size and Shape: Larger pools require more materials and labor, driving up costs. Unique shapes and custom designs also add to the price.
  • Decking and Patio Space: More decking means more concrete, pavers, or other materials, which increases the cost. The style of the deck (stamped concrete, travertine, etc.) also plays a role.
  • Pool Features: Adding extras like tanning ledges, waterfalls, fountains, or spas will quickly increase the price.
  • Finishes: The type of interior finish (plaster, pebble, or tile) can vary significantly in cost.
  • Lighting and Automation: Underwater lighting, smart pool controls, and automation systems all add convenience but come with additional costs.
  • Equipment: High-end pumps, heaters, and filtration systems cost more upfront but can be more efficient long-term.
  • Landscaping and Excavation: If your yard has slopes or tough soil, excavation may be more complicated and expensive. Adding landscaping around the pool will also raise the overall cost.

Concrete pools allow for great customization, but every detail adds to the bottom line. It’s important to have a clear budget and discuss all these variables with your builder upfront to avoid surprises.

How Can You Lower The Cost?

If you’re looking to save on your concrete pool, there are a few ways to cut costs without sacrificing quality:

Choose a Smaller Size: A smaller pool not only requires less material and labor but can also save on long-term maintenance and utility costs.
Simplify the Design: Opt for standard shapes like rectangles or ovals and minimize custom features like waterfalls, infinity edges, or raised walls. These elements can significantly increase the complexity and cost of your project.
Limit Decking: Reducing the amount of decking or choosing cost-effective materials can help cut expenses. You could also skip the deck entirely and add it later as a future upgrade.
Select Basica Materials: Choose durable but budget-friendly finishes for the interior of the pool and surrounding areas. Materials like plaster or basic tile can still achieve a polished look without the premium price tag of high-end options.
Focus on Essentials: Work closely with your pool builder to identify and prioritize your must-haves. For instance, you might delay adding a spa or elaborate landscaping until later when your budget allows.

By collaborating with your builder and making thoughtful decisions, you can create a beautiful pool that fits your vision while staying within your budget.

How Do People Pay?

There are several ways to finance a pool, and a good builder will have resources to guide you through the process. Here are the most common options:

Cash or Savings: Paying upfront avoids interest and long-term debt, but it requires having a large amount of savings available.
Home Equity Loan or HELOC: Use your home’s equity to borrow money. These loans usually offer lower interest rates, but your home is used as collateral.
Personal Loan: Banks, credit unions, or online lenders offer personal loans with fixed payments. While easier to get, they often come with higher interest rates.
Pool Financing Companies: Some builders partner with lenders that specialize in pool loans, offering financing plans specifically for pool projects.
Builder Payment Plans: Some builders offer in-house financing or staggered payment schedules, allowing you to pay as construction progresses.

Each option has pros and cons, so it’s essential to explore which one fits your financial situation best. A reliable pool builder will help you find the right financing option to make the process smoother.

Financing Options

Creating your dream pool is a major investment, and finding the right financing can make all the difference. We’ve partnered with trusted lenders who specialize in pool financing, offering flexible payment plans and competitive rates to help make your project more affordable. With several financing options available, you can choose the plan that best fits your budget and start enjoying a backyard oasis sooner than you might expect.
